Just As Good Gluten Free is all about making gluten free cooking and baking as delicious as possible. Here you’ll find recipes that are adapted and created for a gluten free diet that include tips and instructions to help you be a successful gluten free home chef.
I’m Amy. The heart, soul, creator and dreamer behind this gluten free recipe blog. My formal education is in public health where I spent years in healthcare research and administration. After having my first child, I knew my time needed to be at home raising her and the other two kiddos that followed. I am beyond grateful for the last decade to not only be with my kids, but it gave me time and space to figure out who exactly I am, what I’m good at, and what makes me tick.
Before I had my kids, I remember one afternoon sitting at work asking myself the age-old question…what’s for dinner tonight??? At that point in time, there were only a few well-known recipe blogs. My favorite trusted recipe blog was Simply Recipes (and it still is!). I vividly remember scrolling through her recipes thinking, “I love what she does! From taking pictures, to sharing recipes, to providing helpful tips. THAT is what I want to do!”
So I did. I created a recipe blog to begin sharing with the world what I loved to do, cook and bake. But that first recipe blog I created no longer exists because it is irrelevant to how I need to eat now. Soon after the creation of that site, one of my daughters was diagnosed with Celiac, and shortly after I was as well. Not too long after that a few immediate family members were diagnosed too.
Thus Just As Good Gluten Free was breathed into life, creating purpose and hope for something that was so drastically life-changing and at the same time refining what my recipe blog really needed to be about.
Gluten free baking is one of the most challenging things I do. Every once in a while there are breakthroughs, which is what I share with you on the blog. Behind the scenes is a lot of trial and error, a lot of frustration and tears. But I count it all joy to share with you the successes.
I truly hope the recipes you find here will be some of your trusted favorites! – Amy
